Ranim, Tripoli Youth Committee member, UTOPIA

"I live in Tebbaneh, Tripoli, and one of the biggest problems here is the poor access to water, which has been aggravated since the economic crisis that started in 2019. The Youth RESOLVE 2 project gave us the opportunity as youth to work together and unite, have the same vision and will to support our community positively. The project built our capacity to gain the tools necessary to spark social change. We spoke to local community leaders and felt empowered to implement our Quick Impact Project: providing sustainable energy through the installation of solar panels, which will allow water to be pumped correctly and provide running water for approximately 1500 households. The payoff of volunteer work is purely moral but has more value than anything else material. This experience motivated us to work hard, achieve our goals and serve our community. It’s important for me, as a young person, to support my community and fix things because I see my future in Lebanon".
